Careers at Wilks


Requirement for all positions:

Heavy lifting of material and equipment 50 to 100 pounds, in some cases more. Standard work hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm depending on season and other contributing factors. Cooperation in Wilks Masonry’s safety policy is mandatory. Must be willing to work with others and have a positive attitude.

Laborer:

Must be willing to work hard and have a team attitude. Must be attentive of surroundings. Heavy lifting of material and equipment 50 to 100 pounds.

Equipment Operator:

Must be certified or have prior experience in forklift operation. Must know how to work with masons or be willing to learn. Must be a self-motivated and safe operator.

Apprentice:

Two years experience as a laborer with knowledge of the skills masons require to accomplish goals. Must be self-motivated and willing to learn.

Mason:

Four years experience as a mason and proficient in laying brick, block, and stone. Must be a goal-oriented person, always keeping safety, quality, and production in mind.

Assistant Foreman:

Must be a journeyman mason with knowledge of the skills required to be at the top of the trade. Must have excellent leadership and communication skills. Must be able to read and understand blue prints. Expected to take care of layout, watch over masons and laborers, and be willing to work alongside the crew with hands-on applications. Must be willing to travel. Must be a goal-oriented person, always keeping safety, quality, and production in mind.

Superintendent:

Must be a journeyman mason with five years of experience running projects. You must be a hard-working, reliable, and intelligent individual with strong customer service skills. Must exhibit a high standard of ethical conduct in the work place. Must have the necessary training and knowledge required to be at the top of the trade. Must have excellent leadership and communication skills to communicate with customers, contractors and employees. Must be able to read and understand blue prints. Expected to take care of layout, watch over masons and laborers, and be willing to work alongside the crew with hands-on applications. Bi-lingual speaking is encouraged but is not a requirement. Must be a goal-oriented person, always keeping safety, quality, and production in mind.
